livable area 1563 s.f.

i've seen a place where our homes look like the way we ought to live... where they are designed around the simple principles of light and space... where the environment that is impacted

is as important as the environment that is erected... where the separation of interior and exterior space blurs to expand traditional notions of what is considered livable area... this project is such a place...

technology and design

an inverted roof structure, constructed of photovoltaic panels, is lifted above the building mass to reveal clerestory windows that allow indirect light to filter into the space from above.

deep overhangs and the building's orientation provide shade for the exterior during key times of the day and year.

aluminum louvers and insulated concrete block minimize heat transfer into the building.

a recycled "gray" water system is used to irrigate the drought tolerant landscaping for water conservation.

operable sliding panels, both interior and exterior, allow spaces to be expanded or contracted according to need.
